From May to mid-July, edible mushrooms have already appeared in the forests near Bolesławiec: chicken of the woods, chanterelles, brick-red boletes, reticulated boletes, king boletes, boletes, and bay boletes.
Although the mushroom season is considered to be the autumn months—September, October, and even November—this does not mean that mushrooms do not grow during other months. There are of course fewer of them then than in autumn, but you can almost always come across some specimens, even in winter. In December 2022, we reported on edible mushrooms that grow in winter: Edible winter mushrooms in the forests near Bolesławiec.
