Mayor of Bolesławiec Piotr Roman, mentioning during Wednesday’s session a meeting with the head of GDDKiA concerning a new crossing over the Bóbr River, said that the city authorities must already consider what to do with the two intersections in our city where the most accidents and collisions occur. These are the Dolne Młyny–Wróblewskiego and Modłowa–Cieszkowskiego intersections.
The head of the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune added that the latter would be “the most difficult”: – Perhaps traffic organization will have to be changed on this section between the railway tracks, introducing one-way traffic.
What are the preliminary ideas? As for the Modłowa–Cieszkowskiego intersection, either traffic lights or a roundabout will be built there. As the mayor emphasized, the issue is safety. All the more so because the new headquarters of the Bolesławiec police is located there, and a State Fire Service headquarters will soon be built nearby.
