The park was established in the 1850s. The site is listed in the register of historic monuments and is located in the immediate vicinity of the historic Pückler Palace, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation and adaptation for use as the headquarters of the Museum of Ceramics.
The contractor responsible for revitalizing the city park on Zgorzelecka Street is Agencja Usługowa Stanisław Cap from Święty Wojciech near Międzyrzecz, while the project was designed by Greentec Studio Wojciech Bobek from Wieliczka. The value of the project is PLN 4,955,778. The project is co-financed by the government’s Polski Ład Fund.
The revitalized area of the park covers 1.3237 hectares.
It is worth recalling that the project involves restoring a valuable natural heritage site. The City Hall says: – The aim of revitalizing the park is to improve biodiversity, restore its functional purpose and transform it into an attractive space capable of hosting a variety of outdoor activities. The work involves restoring the layout of the park’s paths and inspecting the tree stand, including the care of old-growth trees and new plantings. To restore its original qualities, the project also provides for the renovation of the fence, fountain, retaining walls and small architecture, as well as the construction of electrical, water-supply and sanitary sewage systems.
The park project is scheduled for completion in August 2023.
