This year’s Run Up the Stairs for a Ceramic Cup took place on Sunday, 22 August. Everyone interested could participate in the competition, regardless of age. The event aims both to popularize running as the simplest form of physical activity and to promote Bolesławiec.

Participants had to cover: 9 floors, 184 stairs, a 32 m difference in elevation, and a 30-meter flat approach to the stairs. After running up to the highest floor of the high-rise, the competitor received a ceramic cup filled with liquid from the judge, which they had to deliver to the finish line. They had to run back down without spilling anything. Everything was measured precisely at the finish. For every milliliter of spilled liquid, competitors received additional penalty seconds, which were added to the time they achieved in the run.
