District police officers from the Bolesławiec unit detained a 40-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality after a chase. KPP:
While patrolling the town, police officers wanted to conduct a traffic stop. However, on seeing the officers, the driver accelerated sharply. He failed to respond to the light and sound signals.
The officers reported:
After driving into the area behind the buildings, the man jumped out of the car and continued his escape on foot.
A moment later, a police car blocked his path, and the 40-year-old fugitive was detained. It soon became clear why he had fled. Police: – The 40-year-old got behind the wheel while intoxicated. The test showed nearly 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.
What is more, it turned out that the suspect had three active court-imposed driving bans. To make matters worse, the 40-year-old from Osiecznica municipality had methamphetamine on him.
The extremely irresponsible driver now faces a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
