A reader wrote about the matter The Bad Bunzlauer:
Loafers and thieves (...) are hanging around Lubańska Street. In the late hours / at night / before dawn, they enter stairwells as if by magic, opening the intercom with a code, and break into basements.
The latest attempt took place yesterday, at around 6 a.m.; a neighbor heard a sound like the door being opened with a code. Someone knew the code and targeted a family living on the top floor of the building.
During the day, we noticed that the basement window was wide open. There was no damage or trace of the kind typically left by break-ins from outside.
The post's author suspects someone living in the area:
Several years ago, a basement containing a large amount of property was robbed—the man later wanted to sell construction tools and posted offers.
And appeals to the residents of Lubańska to remain vigilant. More at The Bad Bunzlauer. For our part, we would add that theft is punishable by between three months and as many as five years in prison. Burglary can result in a prison sentence of up to ten years.
