The incident occurred on Sunday, May 21, on national road No. 30, near the village of Jałowiec (Lubań County). As reported by the eluban.pl portal:
The driver of an Opel Insignia with registration plates from Zgorzelec, travelling towards Lubań, most likely caused a head-on collision with an oncoming BMW while overtaking.
The impact was so severe that firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to free the BMW driver.
Three people were injured: the Opel driver, as well as the BMW passenger and driver. The latter suffered the most serious injuries. However, according to the Lubań news outlet, his life is not in danger.
All three were taken to hospital. The police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident. Officers are appealing to drivers to exercise common sense and caution on the road.
