A resident of Bolesławiec County was caught by store security stealing alcohol. The neighborhood police officers who were called to the scene heard a rather unusual explanation from the thief.
The officers said: – The 26-year-old explained that he was convinced that, by stealing property worth PLN 530, he would be held liable for a petty offense.
They added: – The perpetrator was very surprised to learn that by putting alcohol into his backpack, he had committed a crime and was being detained, and that he would be charged in connection with the theft, for which he faces up to five years in prison.
