On Friday, April 7, renovations to the road on Obrońców Westerplatte Street in Bolesławiec were completed. – This is not a major renovation by urban standards. It would not have happened without funding from the government’s Polski Ład program – said Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman.
A new bituminous layer was laid on one section—from Śluzowa Street to the intersection with Piotra Skargi and Jana Sobieskiego streets. Why was this not done along the entire roadway? As the head of the City of Ceramics emphasized, the road on Obrońców Westerplatte is historic, and the Provincial Heritage Conservator did not consent to covering the cobblestones with asphalt. Nevertheless, the second section was leveled, and partial repairs were carried out there, including repairs to the curb and sidewalk surface.
The mayor added: – This is an important road. We should be pleased that another element of the city’s appearance in a fairly important location is at such a high standard. We should also be pleased that companies from Bolesławiec are winning tenders more and more often. This is a good sign.
The total value of the investment is more than PLN 608,000. The project received funding from the Government Roads Development Fund. The funding amounted to nearly PLN 364,000.
