On March 21, an increased number of traffic officers could be seen on the roads of Lwówek County. – This was due to an operation initiated by officers from Lwówek under the name “Slower to Your Destination” – explains Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.
She adds:
In addition to officers from the Traffic Unit of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski, the operation also involved police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra and the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. The intensified operation was aimed at checking whether drivers were complying with traffic regulations, with particular attention paid to those exceeding the speed limit.
During the operation, police officers checked 74 vehicle drivers and recorded 41 cases of failure to comply with the speed limit.
The officers:
We appeal to drivers to observe the permitted speed limits and to slow down in places where regulations and common sense require particular caution. A safe speed is one that is adapted to the traffic volume, applicable speed limits, weather conditions, road surface conditions and the driver’s own skills.
