Bolesławiec traffic police conducted intensified checks of drivers’ sobriety for more than two days as part of the provincial “Alcohol and Drugs” operation.
The result? Police:
In Bolesławiec County, more than 2,300 drivers were checked over the weekend and during Monday morning hours. In 7 cases, it turned out that the drivers had alcohol in their systems: 4 of those checked were intoxicated, while 3 had consumed alcohol.
In the case of one of those detained, several violations were combined. The man not only had more than 1.3 per mille of alcohol in his system, but also did not have a driving licence, and the vehicle he was driving was not authorised for road use.
During the “Alcohol and Drugs” operation, officers also caught a resident of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship who was driving to work under the influence of alcohol—more than 0.5 per mille.
Moreover, officers also caught drivers who had disregarded court-imposed driving bans and decisions revoking their driving licences.
Let us recall that driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to two years in prison. Breaching a court-imposed driving ban can result in imprisonment for up to five years.
