The incident occurred on Saturday, February 25, in the evening. The driver of a Ford with registration plates “DBL...” stole fuel at one of the stations in Okmiany.
The entire incident was noticed by an employee of the station who, although he was not working that day, decided to intervene. The man set off in pursuit of the thief.
While reversing from the road leading to the nearby Amazon facility, the Ford driver hit the person pursuing him. He then fled the scene. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Efforts are underway to establish the perpetrator’s identity and arrest him. It is not yet known whether he was a resident of Bolesławiec County.
