Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bolesławiec police station took action immediately after receiving a report of a theft at a scrapyard. As a result, they identified a person suspected in the case. The officers said: – The 39-year-old came to sell scrap metal, but that was not the only purpose of his visit to the premises used by the victim.
The resident of Bolesławiec took advantage of the scrapyard employee being occupied and stole a magnet used to verify items. The officers said:
As soon as the police began closing in on him, he reported to the police station himself and handed over the item obtained as a result of the crime.
The 39-year-old resident of the City of Ceramics now faces between three months and as many as five years in prison. The neodymium magnet, worth PLN 3,000, was returned to its owner.
