The incident occurred on January 14 in the afternoon. – Police officers from the Road Traffic Unit of the Lwówek Police Headquarters received a report about a vehicle with visible defects that was moving along the residential streets of Lwówek Śląski and had been seen a short while earlier driving on the athletics track at the municipal stadium – reports Junior Aspirant Tomasz Nowak from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
And he adds:
Officers spotted the vehicle in question and stopped it for inspection. The officers immediately smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. A sobriety test showed that the man had as much as 3.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.
The passengers of the car driven by the extremely irresponsible driver were also drunk.
The spokesperson said: – The 35-year-old resident of Lwówek County explained his behavior to police officers by saying he wanted to improve his car-driving skills, which, as it turned out, were poor, since he did not have a driving license.
The vehicle’s technical condition could not escape the officers’ attention. The car looked as though it had been involved in a collision. Junior Aspirant T. Nowak:
The car had damaged bumpers and a torn-off side mirror, which the alcohol-dazed driver tried to attach with adhesive tape.
The police prevented the 35-year-old from continuing his driving lessons. The man now faces up to two years in prison.
