In recent days, in Bolesławiec County, police officers detained two intoxicated foreign nationals who lost control of their vehicles and crashed into fences. In both cases, the offenders were detained by traffic police and taken to police custody.

The first detention took place in Bolesławiec. A 60-year-old man, with more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system, crashed into a gate while driving a car. The patrol called to the scene detained the man.
Several hours later, a similar incident occurred in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality—in this case, a resident took the driver’s keys. Police: “A 27-year-old man, while reversing a passenger car, crashed into a fence. A witness to the incident, suspecting that the driver was drunk, prevented him from driving further and called the emergency services. The test showed 1.7 per mille of alcohol in the driver’s system.
In both cases, police officers prepared evidence allowing the cases to be heard under fast-track proceedings. After sobering up, both foreign nationals were charged and taken to the courtroom.

The judge found the foreign nationals guilty of the alleged offense and imposed a penalty consisting of a three-year ban on driving all motor vehicles in land traffic, as well as a payment of PLN 5,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims.
