The incident occurred at the beginning of January this year. – The van was stolen during the night from the Bolesławiec County area. Two days later, Złotoryja criminal investigators found a similar vehicle in one of the city’s car parks – reports junior aspirant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja. – The initial checks revealed no irregularities; however, further detailed checks confirmed that it was a car stolen in the Bolesławiec County area.
A crime-scene investigation team, together with a forensic technician, was called to the scene to secure evidence. The spokeswoman said: – The traces collected are extremely important in helping us reach the perpetrator of the theft as quickly as possible.
The car has been secured, and further proceedings will be conducted by Bolesławiec police. The perpetrator or perpetrators may face a prison sentence of between three months and five years.
