– Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec gathered evidence providing grounds to bring 95 theft charges against a 32-year-old man – reports asp. Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Press Section of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
It was established that from July 2021 to May 2022, the suspect stole welding electrodes and abrasive discs worth at least PLN 160,000.
She adds:
Police determined that, as a warehouse employee, the Bolesławiec resident spent many months creating fictitious documentation concerning the issuing of materials used on the production line.
The perpetrator took goods from his workplace and then offered them for sale, either by SMS or through online sales portals. The spokesperson said: – The man was able to “issue” goods from the warehouse outside the designated hours and while working at another position.
Officers from the Investigation Department found abrasive discs at the suspect’s apartment. Aspirant A. Pieprzycka said: – The account given by the 32-year-old regarding where he had purchased them only further convinced investigators that he was engaged in criminal activity.
The arrested man now faces up to five years in prison.
