Złotoryja traffic police, while on duty in the Zagrodno municipality, stopped a delivery van for inspection. – At the wheel was a 43-year-old resident of Legnica County. A check of his details in police systems showed that he did not have a driving licence – reports junior aspirant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja.
That was not the end of it. The spokeswoman said: – The court in Bolesławiec had issued a driving ban against him, as a result of which the Bolesławiec county governor issued an administrative decision revoking his driving licence. By deciding to drive a car in this situation, the man committed offences set out in Articles 180a and 244 of the Criminal Code.
What is more, the man was tested for drugs in his system. It turned out that he had got behind the wheel under the influence of three illegal substances: amphetamine, marijuana and cocaine. His blood was collected for testing.
The officers said: – For the offences committed, the man faces up to five years in prison and even a lifetime driving ban.
