In 2022, 590 birth certificates were registered at the Civil Registry Office in Bolesławiec. That is 69 more births than in 2021. Of these, 125 registrations concerned children born abroad, while 8 concerned adoptions ordered by a court.

Slightly more girls than boys were born (299 girls and 291 boys). Parents most often gave their sons the names Antoni and Nikodem, followed by Kacper, Jan, Filip, Michał, Tymon and Leon. Among the most frequently chosen names for daughters were Zuzanna and Zofia, as well as Julia, Milena, Maria, Hanna, Amelia and Róża.

More marriages

Compared with the previous year, the number of marriages also increased. The local office registered 285 of them (50 more weddings than in 2021). Most ceremonies were civil. The office reported: – At the local Wedding Palace, 141 couples got married, while 6 other couples chose an outdoor ceremony (3 weddings in Bolesławiec and one each in Bolesławice, Kruszyn and Żeliszów). Eighty-seven marriages were concluded before a member of the clergy. In addition, 51 marriages concluded abroad were registered.

More divorces

The municipal authorities report: – The number of recorded divorces is trending upwards. Last year there were 124, including 9 recognitions of divorces granted by foreign courts. This is 30 more than in the previous year.

Fewer deaths

In 2022, the number of deaths fell significantly: 727 were recorded (225 fewer than in the previous year), including 21 people who died outside Poland.

It is also worth adding that the Civil Registry Office in Bolesławiec organized four ceremonies to present the “Medals for Long Marital Life” to 12 couples. Civil Registry Office representatives also attended two wonderful ceremonies marking the 100th birthdays of Bolesławiec residents.
