During a presentation of a report on the most important activities undertaken between sessions, Mayor Piotr Roman mentioned what he considered the most important event: the opening of a new Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec. – We should all be bursting with great pride and satisfaction – he said. – The hospital is becoming one of the best showcases of our city; it is absolutely raising our brand, our standing and our reputation. I sometimes receive calls from people in Warsaw who would like to undergo a procedure at the hospital in Bolesławiec. That says something.
He added: – Director Kamil Barczyk’s further plans are exceptionally ambitious. He also pointed out that the plan is to merge the Bolesławiec facility with at least one hospital. (This refers primarily to the one in Zgorzelec).
As P. Roman emphasized, following such a merger Bolesławiec would have the second-largest hospital complex in the voivodeship. – You talk differently to a large NFZ – the mayor concluded.
Whether the merger will go ahead remains to be seen. We will certainly return to the subject.
