The video recording from a camera shows two perpetrators who, without any hesitation, douse the car with a flammable liquid and set it on fire. Lucyna Miszczanowicz, a junior clerk at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, confirms that the arson was reported to the prosecutor’s office and that steps are being taken to investigate the case.

Dear Sir or Madam, in Pieńsk (Lower Silesia), on the night of 8–9 December 2022, a vehicle belonging to one of the local entrepreneurs, who is my father privately, was burned for the third time. The victim is active in the local socio-political sphere, which gives rise to suspicions regarding the motive behind the arsons. The previous arsons took place in October 2020 and January 2021. In all three cases, the vehicle used every day by my father was burned. In the first arson, the fire spread to the residential building, causing extensive damage to the windows and wooden elements of the façade. In both previous cases, the proceedings were discontinued by the law enforcement authorities because the perpetrators were not identified. At the same time, the evidence motions requested by the victim were not carried out, including the questioning of an eyewitness who saw the perpetrators flee the scene. It should be noted that the victim is a local entrepreneur who is also active in the public sphere and works to detect irregularities in the performance and settlement of public-procurement contracts.
