The competition “We will defeat smog when we take care of clean air ourselves” was organized as part of the annual “Safe Bolesławiec” project, which is held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Bolesławiec.

Organizers: – The competition was intended for pupils in grades I–III of primary schools and involved creating an artwork whose message was to illustrate issues related to smog, its consequences, and show that each of us influences the condition of the air we breathe.

The prizes for the winners were funded and presented by the Mayor of Bolesławiec, Piotr Roman. The official announcement of the results and presentation of the prizes took place on 9 December 2022 in the conference room of Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki.

Approximately 200 entries were submitted to the competition. They were assessed by a judging panel comprising representatives of Bolesławiec Municipal Police and an employee of BOK – MCC. Twelve winning entries were selected—three in each grade category. Three entries also received honorable mentions (grades I, II and III were assessed separately).

The winning entries were included in a 2023 poster calendar so that education in this area would continue throughout the year.
