The equipment will be used for faster detection and extinguishing of interior fires, as well as for minimising the damage they cause. Such fires are the most dangerous for people because they involve residential buildings. The following items were purchased: a thermal imaging camera, an extension ladder (two-section, with connecting and plug-in elements), a piercing fire lance, a chimney lance, and a turbo water-foam branchpipe. The “WzMOCnij swoje otoczenie” programme is a nationwide grant programme implemented by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne. It is aimed at local governments and their units, such as preschools, schools, libraries and social welfare centres, as well as non-governmental organisations that want to introduce important and lasting changes in their surroundings in one of the following eight areas: physical activity, safety, education, animal protection, development of shared public space, the natural environment, health and other initiatives falling within the programme’s objectives.
