Officers of the Police Station in Kruszyn identified a man suspected in connection with the attempted theft of 10 trapezoidal metal sheets. The perpetrator was detained; he is a 26-year-old resident of Gmina Bolesławiec. The man confessed to attempting the theft and explained that his actions were unsuccessful because the site caretaker scared him away.
The detainee was also charged with two other offenses: driving while intoxicated and driving despite a court ban and a decision revoking his driving privileges.
Both theft and traffic offenses are punishable by up to five years in prison.
