Volunteers, both men and women, arrived at the unit in Bolesławiec from different parts of Poland, including Kowary, Nowy Sącz and Łódź. There are also volunteers from Bolesławiec. Some of them want to work as professional soldiers, while others signed up out of curiosity—to see what it is like and perhaps try something new. There are also those who point to a family military tradition.
