Immediately after receiving a report of a stolen mailbox, officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec took action to recover the stolen property. KPP Bolesławiec:
Property belonging to Poczta Polska disappeared on the night of October 8–9. The mailbox stood by a road in a rural area and was used by several families.
Police determined that the offense was committed by a 58-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality, who had stolen a bicycle several weeks earlier.
Bolesławiec KPP: – A search of the man’s property confirmed the officers’ suspicions, as the mailbox was found under a tarp.
The suspect himself was unable to rationally explain why he had stolen the mailbox. The “criminal mastermind” now faces up to five years in prison.
