– On November 3, 2022, a young man reported to the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski, informing officers that he had been held captive by men he knew but had managed to escape – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. – The findings showed that, on the night of October 31 to November 1, 2022, two men, aged 23 and 30, from Lwówek County deprived a 21-year-old of his liberty in order to recover a debt.
She adds: – The men forced the victim into a car and then, against his will, drove him to a forest, where they ordered him to perform particularly tormenting acts and beat him all over his body.
The perpetrators were arrested the same day. They were charged with deprivation of liberty with particular cruelty, assault and exposing a person to the direct danger of loss of life or serious injury.
At the prosecutor's request, the court remanded the 23- and 30-year-olds in pre-trial detention for three months. Both suspects face a prison sentence of at least three years.
