Twenty-seven lower Silesian middle schools took part in the “My Area Is Becoming More Beautiful Thanks to the ROP” competition, organized by the Department of the Regional Operational Programme at the Marshal’s Office in Wrocław. The participants’ task was to prepare an artwork illustrating investments co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme.
Representatives of five schools qualified for the final. The students presented their projects in Wrocław on 10 June 2010. The young people demonstrated extraordinary inventiveness. There were dances, interviews, films, comics, performances, multimedia presentations and even an Oscar-style gala.
The team from Gimnazjum Samorządowe nr 3 in Bolesławiec took first place (comprising: Łukasz Janiec, Tomasz Cieślak, Tomasz Miżdal, Patryk Moskaluk and Jakub Suchcicki). The students received valuable prizes, and at the end of June they will go on a trip to Brussels. The trip was funded by MEP Piotr Borys.
