Marcjanna was a healthy, normally developing girl until she suddenly stopped growing. Due to this worrying symptom, our beneficiary began undergoing tests, which already revealed an abnormal blood sugar level. However, it was only at a specialist clinic that Marcjanna was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and, additionally, celiac disease. Since then, the teenager’s life has changed dramatically.
She adds:
The girl’s health currently depends on appropriate medical supplies. The disease requires constant monitoring of food, including its weight, quantity and quality. The need to continually control blood sugar levels makes everyday life difficult for Marcjanna. Many people do not understand what the girl is struggling with and draw attention to the pump, tubing and infusion sites that are an inseparable part of fighting diabetes. In addition, our beneficiary has impaired vision in one eye and remains under an ophthalmologist’s care. The teenager is trying to accept the limitations that illness places in her way, but she still requires help from another person, especially at night. Thanks to her parents’ support, proper care and medical supplies, Marcjanna goes through life with a smile and hope of making her dreams come true.
The foundation wants to make the dream of a 13-year-old from Modła come true
Organization: – Marcjanna has a passion—figure skating on roller skates. The girl is willing to sacrifice everything to continue her beloved hobby. Reaching the level she has achieved has cost her many hardships, sacrifices, tears and bruises. Recently, the teenager managed to find a coach. Thanks to her, as well as her family’s support, our beneficiary took second place in a nationwide figure roller-skating competition. Marcjanna currently skates on amateur roller skates, but to continue developing her passion, she needs the professional roller skates she dreams of. Such skates would allow the girl to perform difficult jumps and spins even better. Perhaps one day, thanks to help in making Marcjanna’s dream come true, we will see her on television at the Polish—and even world—championships.
