The incident occurred on October 20. – Police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski, while patrolling provincial road no. 297, noticed a vehicle traveling at high speed along the winding road. The officers decided to check what was causing such haste – reports Senior Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the Lwówek Śląski District Police Headquarters.
Although the police officers gave the driver visual and audible signals to stop, he did not do so. On the contrary, he accelerated. The officers began chasing the Ford.
While fleeing, the 38-year-old resident of Lwówek County caused a collision with a passenger car traveling properly. But he continued to flee.
At one point, he lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a ditch. That did not cool his enthusiasm. Not at all! The 38-year-old began fleeing on foot. But it did not help much, as he was arrested.
Spokeswoman:
As it turned out, there was more than one reason for the escape. The 38-year-old resident of Lwówek County did not have a driving license. During a check, it emerged that he was carrying marijuana and was under the influence of methamphetamine.
Furthermore, the Ford driven by the fugitive had license plates assigned to another vehicle. It also did not have valid insurance.
The man was taken into police custody. Failure to stop for a traffic check alone carries a sentence of up to five years in prison.
