At the end of September, a reader wrote to the editorial office describing a situation in the center of Bolesławiec that she had allegedly witnessed. We quote part of her email:

I wonder what we need the Municipal Police for. Today I witnessed a very interesting situation involving the officers. The municipal police officers (an older man and a woman – I think everyone knows who I mean), passing by some homeless men shamelessly drinking beer in the city center on Sierpnia 80 Street, did not even bother to look at the partygoers. They simply calmly walked past them, at their usual leisurely pace, and continued on their way. My question is: why does the City maintain the Municipal Police institution if it DOES NOTHING? (...).

We asked the Municipal Police in Bolesławiec for a comment on the situation described above.

The Municipal Police does not confirm that such an incident took place. Here is the response we received:
