Military Recreation Center in Bolesławiec:
By decision of the Minister of National Defence No. 196/MON of 28 October 2019, 10 October was established as Reserve Soldiers’ Day. The date refers to the victorious Battle of Koronowo, in which Polish units under the command of Sędziwój of Ostróg and Piotr Niedźwiedzki defeated forces of the Teutonic Order that were significantly stronger than their own. The memorable battle was an example of one of the fastest military mobilisations in the history of medieval Europe.
And adds:
On the occasion of the holiday, we extend our warmest wishes to all reserve soldiers. At the same time, we thank you for your personal contribution to the security of our Homeland, for your achievements to date, and above all for your readiness to take on new challenges in each coming year.
A ceremonial assembly was held at the Wojskowe Centrum Rekrutacji in Bolesławiec. During the event, the head of the Wojskowe Centrum Rekrutacji in Bolesławiec, Lt. Col. Marek Dąbrowski, thanked reserve soldiers for their continued availability and readiness to respond to calls as part of their duty to defend the Homeland.
As part of the celebrations, a badminton tournament was also held, attended by reserve soldiers and WCR soldiers. The Centre: – We thank the participants and winners for taking part and warmly congratulate them on their results.
