Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec received a report concerning the theft of a bicycle worth PLN 2,000. – The officers’ findings led them to the perpetrator and the stolen property – reports Staff Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
She adds: – The police first recovered the bicycle. They then arrested the 45-year-old woman, who admitted to the theft.
Interestingly, the suspect explained to the officers that, while returning from work, she noticed a bicycle that was not locked. She therefore concluded that someone had abandoned it, so she wheeled the bicycle to her car, loaded it into the vehicle’s trunk and drove away.
The police recovered the stolen property, and the vehicle was returned to its owner. The 45-year-old woman now faces up to five years in prison.
