Officers from Nowogrodziec – after arresting the pair of thieves – brought 10 charges against each suspect. – During the investigation, police gathered evidence that the residents of Lubań County had even more thefts on their record. From May to July, they committed a total of as many as 14 crimes – reports Staff Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
The criminal scenario was always the same: they arrived together and jointly sold the loot at non-ferrous metal collection points in Bolesławiec and Lubań counties. What exactly did they steal? Conveyor-belt components belonging to the mine’s equipment. The losses were estimated at PLN 14,000.
The suspects confessed. They explained that they used the money obtained from the crimes for everyday needs.
Both now face up to five years in prison.
