– Recently, coal has undoubtedly become a scarce commodity and an attractive area of activity also for dishonest sellers. It turns out that this fact is also being exploited by fraudsters, who prey directly on people’s lack of awareness. Of course, all this is driven by the desire to become rich quickly, but unlawfully – Sgt. Maj. Paweł Noga from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
Another person who learned this lesson was a resident of Strzelin County, who bought coal through a website. Following the instructions, the woman transferred money to the account number provided. She did not receive the coal. What is more, after a few days the advertisement itself disappeared from the internet, while the “seller” neither answered the phone nor replied to text messages. The victim reported the matter to the police.

Officers urge people to exercise caution when placing this type of order. Let us not blindly assume that every advertisement on social media is genuine and trustworthy. People posting such offers do so for profit, and when they manage to defraud someone, they quickly cut off contact.
