The entire incident took place on Wednesday, August 24, in Bolesławiec. At around 11:00 a.m., the 26-year-old Mercedes driver—on seeing a police patrol—failed to obey the traffic lights. He also did not stop his vehicle, despite officers signaling for him to do so.
The police therefore began a pursuit. It ended on Wróblewskiego Street, where the fugitive abandoned his vehicle and fled. But this did him little good. He was arrested.
That was not the end of the matter, however. It emerged that the man had been driving while intoxicated. What is more, it turned out that the 26-year-old was wanted and had an outstanding prison sentence to serve. As we were able to establish, the fugitive has already been taken to prison.
The 26-year-old now additionally faces up to five years in prison for failing to stop for a traffic inspection. The man will also be held responsible for driving under the influence of alcohol.
