While patrolling Bolesławiec, officers measured the speed at which the driver of a Volkswagen was travelling. As it turned out, the 23-year-old resident of Zgorzelec was speeding through the City of Ceramics at 122 km/h, in a place where the speed limit is 50 km/h. – For his irresponsible and dangerous behaviour on the road, the man lost his driving licence for three months, was given a PLN 2,500 fine and 10 penalty points – reports Staff Sergeant Agnieszka Skoczypiec of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
That was not the end of it. On the same road, the same patrol measured the speed of a Citroën. This time, a 21-year-old woman from Jelenia Góra was behind the wheel, travelling at 106 km/h. She also lost her driving licence for three months and received a PLN 1,500 fine and 10 penalty points.
On the same day, but on a county road, officers caught a 40-year-old female driver who was driving under the influence. (The test showed nearly one per mille of alcohol in her system.) The woman faces up to two years in prison.
Police officers from Bolesławiec appeal for caution behind the wheel and compliance with road traffic regulations.
