The incident occurred on 17 August. Nowogrodziec officers:
(...) at 7:37 p.m. the call came in. It was somewhat unusual, because this time the siren did not alert us, all because of the power outage in our area.
And they immediately add: – Fortunately, the alarm is also transmitted using the firefighters' mobile phones.
Why did the power go out? The firefighters explain:
The intervention was prompted by a fire in the transformer room in Nowogrodziec, at Lubańska Street. When our crew arrived, smoke was coming from the building. The room was immediately opened using forcible-entry equipment, and powder extinguishers were used to put out the fire.
The room was then ventilated to enable the power emergency service that had arrived at the scene to work.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec took part in the operation, which lasted about an hour.
