We have reported several times in these pages on the mess that used to surround clothing containers. The issue was also raised many times during sessions of the Bolesławiec City Council. There is a chance things will improve, as the city authorities inform us:

Starting in August this year, the municipal company MZGK will also service containers for used clothing and textiles in Bolesławiec. The containers are located near waste-bin enclosures and local PSZOKs and bear the MZGK logo and the coat of arms of the city of Bolesławiec.

What can be put in these containers?

Used and unwanted clothing, as well as textiles.

What must not be put in the containers?

Footwear, belts and other municipal waste.

The office explains: – Textiles placed in clothing containers will be collected and stored by MZGK and, once larger transport batches have been accumulated, transferred to a recycling company. The material waste will be sorted and cleaned there, then sent to suitable facilities, where it will be turned into various types of cleaning cloths; material suitable for reuse will be given a new life or donated to those in need.

MZGK also invites residents to use the Selective Waste Collection Point located at 6 Staszica Street. Simply bring sorted waste, including clothing and textiles, and MZGK employees will accept it free of charge and ensure it is properly processed.
