Operational police officers, while carrying out activities related to property crimes, identified a suspect in these offenses. He turned out to be a 39-year-old well known to the officers. – Knowing that he had a sentence to serve, the perpetrator left the country to avoid responsibility for his actions – reports Staff Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

She adds: – After several weeks, he returned to the Bolesławiec area and was arrested because the police had continued investigating his whereabouts.

First, the 39-year-old was charged with four offenses. Two concerned the theft of cosmetics from drugstores, worth more than PLN 1,200. Another charge involved the theft of a bicycle and an axe with a combined value of nearly PLN 3,000. Moreover, the man will be held responsible for attempting to break into an outbuilding and steal power tools.

The suspect had previously been convicted, so as a repeat offender he may face up to 15 years in prison.
