The incident occurred on Thursday, July 14. Volunteer firefighters from Wierzbowa:

(…) at 2:26 p.m., the Bolesławiec State Fire Service dispatcher assigned our unit to a forest fire in the village of Motyle. All services were on site.

The threat was eliminated. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Forest fires are often among the most labor- and time-consuming incidents for firefighters. If a forest fire is detected at an early stage, it can be extinguished within just a few hours. However, if it spreads across several hectares, firefighting operations may last... several days.

The cause of such incidents is often the so-called human factor. Therefore, officers from the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service appeal to county residents to limit visits to forests during hot weather and to inform officers about any sources of fire. (The sooner firefighters reach the scene, the sooner the situation will be brought under control).
