About two weeks ago, a container with an unknown chemical substance was found in a forest between Bolesławiec and Stare Jaroszowice. (Firefighters determined, however, that it was not a hazardous liquid.) The waste is to be disposed of by GreenTech, but the company is still waiting for test results to determine exactly what is inside the container.
Is it a chemical substance from Germany? This cannot be stated unequivocally. Forest District Manager Arkadiusz Sudoł only confirms that there are inscriptions in German on the container.
The forest district manager adds that this is the first case in the history of the Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec in which someone has dumped a container with chemicals in our forests in this way.
As it turns out, it was the first, but not the last. Shortly after this container was found, forestry workers came across a container with another chemical substance, which someone had abandoned between Kraśnik and Kruszyn. The services are investigating both cases.
We hope these will be isolated incidents and that those responsible for both acts will face severe consequences.
