The incident occurred last Friday. – The duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia was notified of a road accident that occurred on one of the streets in Porajów – reports Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Investigations by the prosecutor’s office and police show that the driver of the Citroën, a 71-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, failed to yield the right of way while turning left to the oncoming rider of a Yamaha motorcycle. A collision occurred, as a result of which the motorcyclist also struck a BMW waiting to join the traffic.

The 29-year-old Yamaha rider died at the scene. Importantly, he should not have been riding the motorcycle at all, as he was subject to a court-ordered driving ban.

The prosecutor’s office and police are investigating the case. Police:

We appeal to drivers to exercise good judgment and behave responsibly on the road. We must be aware of the dangers to which we are exposed on the roads. Let us observe speed limits, adjust our driving to the road conditions and under no circumstances get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.

They add:
