On Friday (April 30), before noon, a grass fire broke out in wasteland between Łaziska and Bolesławiec. The fire appeared in several places, suggesting that someone had deliberately started it. Seven fire-service units took part in the firefighting operation. Gusty winds made it difficult to extinguish the fire. Drivers travelling along the Bolesławiec–Łaziska route had to slow down. Smoke reduced visibility to just several dozen metres. Fortunately, the wind was blowing from the west, and the fire did not threaten the nearby forests. At least several hectares of grass burned down.
