– We remember those who fell while serving outside the country, and those who, while serving on missions in Polish Military Contingents, risked their lives and health – said the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Col. Krzysztof MalankiewiczKrzysztof Malankiewicz.
In addition, the commander of the Bolesławiec artillerymen thanked the veterans for proudly representing the colors of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and honorably fulfilling their duty to the Homeland.
During the ceremonial roll call commemorating Veterans Day for Actions Outside the Country and the International Day of Peacekeeping Personnel, the artillerymen paid tribute to all soldiers who, with the white-and-red flag on their shoulders, risked their health and lives to provide assistance wherever peace was threatened and human rights were violated.
After the roll call, Colonel Malankiewicz met with disabled veterans. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current matters and issues concerning veterans who had suffered health damage during operations outside the country.
