– Lower Silesian officers of the Customs and Tax Service, cooperating with officers of the German customs service, conducted operations aimed at uncovering the illegal possession or trafficking of narcotic substances on the Polish-German border. In one of the German towns, they stopped a minibus carrying eight Polish citizens who were travelling to work in Germany – explains Sebastian Polański, senior specialist in the Communications Department of the Tax Administration Chamber in Wrocław.

Aria, the service dog accompanying the officers, detected the smell of drugs in the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, the officers did not find any narcotic substances; however, the dog indicated the driver in its characteristic manner.

And indeed. The use of a mobile detector on the driver’s hand skin confirmed the officers’ suspicions. S. Polański: – Trace amounts of amphetamine and MDMA were found on the driver’s hands and steering wheel. In addition, a test showed that the arrested driver’s saliva contained traces indicating drug use.

Officers of the German Customs Office called a Police patrol, which carried out further procedures involving the arrested driver. KAS:

The arrested man faces a fine of up to PLN 5,000 or up to two years’ imprisonment. In addition, a driving ban is imposed in such cases.
