In an interview with istotne.pl, director of the Bolesławiec hospital Kamil Barczyk confirmed our unofficial information about negotiations with the authorities of Żagań County.
– Recently, we have been talking with the Żagań district authorities about the possible takeover or leasing of that hospital’s facility – says Kamil Barczyk. – The hospital in Żagań is currently operated by the hospital in Żary, and the district authorities will decide whether the agreement will be continued or terminated as well – the director adds.
Residents of Żagań should have greater access to healthcare services. It is also about the fact that larger institutions can do more. Since the hospital in Żagań has contracts for ophthalmology and laryngology, these two departments could also be available in Bolesławiec after the facility is taken over.
– The plans are broader than ophthalmology and laryngology, which are still at the idea stage, and it is too early to declare anything – says Kamil Barczyk. At the same time, he adds that a neurological outpatient clinic with access to drug programs will be established in Bolesławiec in about a month.
