Monthly earnings at the hospital in Bolesławiec, including the COVID allowance, could reach as much as 30,000 złoty. Kamil Barczyk believes that high salaries for medical staff will make it possible for specialists trained in Poland to treat Polish people. In the interview, the director of St. Luke’s Hospital also discusses doctors’ salaries after the pandemic.

– A doctor should earn a decent salary – says Kamil Barczyk in the interview. – So that the doctor is satisfied with their remuneration and so that it is attractive. It should be commensurate with what they do. It is difficult to name a specific amount, but if a doctor is responsible for saving patients’ lives, then I think the remuneration should be attractive enough to prevent medical staff from leaving the profession or emigrating. It should be standardized globally and compared with the countries of the European Union. This is very important because our market is open and everyone can choose. What matters is that medical staff remain in Poland and treat Polish people – adds the director of St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec
