General Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces:
Ladies and Gentlemen, we would like to inform you that from Sunday, 1 May military vehicle convoys will be travelling on the roads of almost the entire country in connection with military exercises to be held in accordance with this year's training programme of the Polish Armed Forces.
As part of the exercise, from 1 May until the end of the month, military vehicle convoys will travel on the roads of the following voivodeships: West Pomeranian, Lubusz, Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Masovian, Lublin and Warmian-Masurian. Military vehicles may be encountered on motorways, expressways and national roads.
The arrival and passage of the convoys will also be used by exercise participants, among other things, to practise receiving and deploying allied forces, coordinating cross-border operations and cooperating with host nations.
Vehicles participating in the exercises will most often travel at night, so that their passage causes as little disruption to traffic as possible. However, some movements will take place during the day, and even during peak traffic hours. They will be escorted and secured by the Military Police and traffic-control units of the Polish Armed Forces in cooperation with the Police. The redeployments have been coordinated with the relevant authorities, including local authorities.
The military adds:
We also appeal to the public – let us protect information, especially in the current situation. We ask everyone not to publish information or photographs showing troop movements and their locations, the dates and times of military convoy movements, or information concerning the take-offs and landings of military aircraft. Let us remain aware of the risks! Every ill-considered action online, and the publication of photographs showing important military facilities, installations or equipment, may have negative consequences for the security and defence system.
