The district educational project “SOS – Schools of Open Opportunities”, for which more than PLN 2 million was secured, is progressing smoothly. In the first quarter of 2010, 564 students from general secondary schools and 10 students of the District Special Lower Secondary School participated in it. During this period, 1,794 hours of various remedial and educational, psychological and pedagogical activities were held.

Educational trips are also organized as part of the project. Participants in the humanities classes attend museum lessons, held at the National Museum in Wrocław, as well as theater performances. In addition, the schools received teaching aids worth nearly PLN 200,000.

Since January this year, a total of 67 teachers have conducted extracurricular classes. The educators emphasize that it is very important to stimulate the activity of every participant in the “SOS” project. This is enabled, among other things, by appropriate work organization, with students working in small groups.
